Rebecca Meltzer is an Opera Director, Movement Director, Choreographer and Teacher from London. Her work draws on her background as an interdisciplinary artist having trained in Music, Movement and Choreography. Rebecca strives for focused, honest storytelling with a physically driven agenda, and aims to curate a rehearsal process that is compassionate and collaborative. She is a Stagecraft Teacher at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Co-Director of the Waterperry Opera Festival Young Artist Programme, a festival she co-founded in 2018. Her highly acclaimed production of Jonathan Dove’s Mansfield Park (5* Telegraph/Bachtrack) has been revived multiple times with companies including New Zealand Opera and Buxton International Festival. Most recently, she has directed work for the BBC Proms and Scottish Opera.
